Meet Clyde who is a 10-year old miniature dachshund that came to us after showing symptoms of acute paralysis. He was extremely uncomfortable and in agonizing pain, which prompted his owners to bring him in for evaluation.
Clyde was rushed to our on-site MRI to diagnose the reasons for paralysis. The MRI revealed that a herniated disc was putting pressure on his spinal cord, resulting in his paralysis. Clyde was immediately underwent surgery to alleviate the compressing of the herniated disc.
We are proud to be one of the few animal hospitals in the country to have our own MRI. This is the least invasive and most accurate diagnostic tool in the world, and is revered as the golden standard in human and veterinary medicine.
In cases such as paralysis, and many others, an MRI scan is the only accurate way to diagnose the root cause of the problem. Once diagnosed, a proper treatment plan can be put in motion. In Clyde’s case, decompression surgery was the best option and our team of highly skilled surgeons made it possible for Clyde to walk within days after his surgery. Now Clyde is back to living a happy, pain-free, and normal life!
Animal Health Center is proud to be at the forefront of non-invasive procedures and diagnostics. Our team of highly skilled doctors and surgeons are experienced in working with the most advanced and cutting-edge equipment, methods, and surgeries available to the medical industry.
